Broken Heart Syndrome
Book One of the Broken Heart Series
Amara Olson has never been in a relationship, and for the most part, she’s been fine with that. College gives her enough to focus on without adding a boyfriend to the list. Then she meets Dorian. He’s persistent without pushing too hard, and somewhere between becoming friends and spending more time together, Amara starts letting him get closer than she expected. But just as she begins to figure out what she wants with him, someone from her past comes back into her life.
Amara and Dorian are only part of the story.
Dorian is falling for Amara while keeping something from someone he has known most of his life. He knows the truth will eventually come out. He just doesn’t know what it will cost when it does.
Constanza is Amara’s best friend and usually the one with something to say about everybody else’s relationships. Her own is harder to explain. She keeps going back to someone who gives her just enough to stay, even when she knows she wants more than what he’s offering.
David has spent years trying to become the son his father wants him to be. Between his brother’s death, his father’s expectations, and feelings he can’t do anything about, he’s reaching a point where keeping everything to himself isn’t working anymore.
Ryin is no longer part of their everyday lives, but there’s more to her absence than most of them know. She has her own reasons for staying quiet, even when that means letting people believe a version of the story that isn’t completely true.
Zoie knows something is off. The people closest to her know more than they’re saying, and once she starts putting the pieces together, she has to decide what to do with what she finds.
Broken Heart Syndrome follows Amara, Dorian, Constanza, David, Ryin, and Zoie as their relationships begin to overlap and the things they’ve kept from one another become harder to hide.
